7th Grade Science Teachers: Mr. McCaulley and Mr. Stansfield
Curriculum: In 7th grade Science, students will study the following topics: Living Things, Scientific Method, Metric Measurement, Structures of Viruses and Cells (Virus Research Paper and Cell Project), Chemistry of Life, Cell Processes, Cell Reproduction (Mitosis and Meiosis), Heredity and Evolution (Genetics and Inheritance), Classification of All Living Organisms, and Fish, Amphibians and Reptiles.
8th Grade Science Teachers: Mr. Bradeis and Mr. Shire
Curriculum: 8th grade science is the study of the Earth. The branches of
study are Geology, Meteorology, and Astronomy, In Geology we study the processes inside the Earth. In Astronomy, we study space and the celestial bodies found there. In Meteorology, we study the processes that cause weather on Earth.
Students are required to take Science PSSA tests in the spring each year. We encourage students to visit Study Island to help them prepare for these tests each year.
*All units and daily lessons are aligned with Pennsylvania State Standards in Reading, Math, and Science.
