Art Department

Teacher: Mrs. Crozier

The art curriculum is designed to offer students an introduction to a wide variety of materials and styles of art.  Materials include pencil, ink, paint, pastels, paster, clay, collage, etc.

The visual arts curriculum is designed to engage our students' visual problem solving skills.  Students are encouraged to think areatively and consider aesthetics when designing and creating their work.  In today's world because of computers, advanced technology, and globalization, the ability to communicate in a visual language is more important than ever.

Multiculturalism is examined through the arts as we examine the human paint_brush_and_paint_bottles.gifexperience portrayed through the eyes of ethnic artists.

Grading is based on major projects as well as tests that assess information learned (i.e. technique, vocabulary, and art history).  Every student can achieve success if they follow directions and pay attention during class. Before and after school help is available at the student's request.
