Dear Parents,

Welcome back to our classroom page. 

My continued "thanks" to all of you for signing your child's reading log.  Since most of the children are reading chapter books, I think it is a good idea to be aware of the number of pages they are reading at night.  When we read 2 steps in the morning, I look for about 25 pages of reading.  I know it sounds like a lot for your little ones, but rest assured that this is the most effective way to help them improve as readers.   I have seen such growth in room 6 and it thrills me!! 

Up and coming...

Young Authors' Day!!!  Your children are hard at work writing and illustrating their own hard cover books.  On Tuesday, May29th will will celebrate by having the children read their stories to you.  Kindly fill in form that was sent home on the 18th.

Field Day is scheduled for Wednesday the 23rd.  Don't forget sneakers and sunblock.  Hope for sunshine!!

We had 18 students successfully complete their multiplication tables in time to join us at the Old Croydon Cafe for lunch.  Way to go!!!  Ask your third grader if they were able to complete the chart by May 4th.  If they did not, please help them learn the rest of their multiplication facts in order to prepare for grade 4.
