PTO Minutes
TO minutes from October 17th meeting:
The financial statement was reviewed and no changes were made.
The effective behavior program has handed out behavior t-shirts. Students earn these shirts by getting behavior tickets. If your child hasn't received a shirt yet, please make sure they have turned in their pink emergency form. Shirts are being held until this important paper is turned in. The effective behavior team is also having a cookie dough fundraiser. All orders need to be turned in by 11/4. Orders will be delivered on 12/5. With your help, we earned over $300 from Chuck E. Cheese.
PTO memberships have been turned in. The class with the most participation was Room 4, Ms. K's class. They will receive a McDonald's happy meal party on 10/31.
PTO is working hard to bring back the school store. Our next school store date is set for 11/15. If anyone is able to donate some time on that Tuesday, please send in a note to PTO. Our students do love school store, be we need more volunteers to make this happen. The store is well stocked and ready to go.
Market day pick up will continue to be on Tuesdays this year. If you are unable to pick up at that time, please call the PTO. We are able to work with you. We do have a freezer that can hold your order. If you pre-pay for your order and are not able to pick it up, someone will be able to drop off the order to you if you call ahead. The next order is due in to school by 11/9. Pick up day for set for November 15 from 5:30-6pm.
PTO is still collecting box tops. This is a huge year long fundraiser. Every classroom has a container that students can put any box tops in on a daily basis. Everyone month, someone from PTO collects and counts the box tops. A talley is kept and the classroom with the most box tops collected receives a party. There are 2 parties a year: December and June. Our 1st collection will be at the end of the month. Collection sheets also went home with grades K-2. You do not need to fill these out...but we found the kids find this to be an easier way to collect them. As of the end of September the classrooms in the lead are:Rm #'s 4, 5, 6, 16, 17, 24 and 26. We will continue to collect every month.
The fall fundraiser has been delivered. If there are any issues with your order, please send in a note with your student to the PTO. We will be submitting a claim with all issues the week of 10/31. To avoid any shipping issues, we would like to put all claims on 1 form.
Currently, PTO is getting a new vendor for our spirit wear. Order forms will be distributed as soon as we get price information back to us. Currently we offer sweat jackets, sweat pants, t-shirts etc. These make great gym uniforms also. Stock up for the cold winter months.
PTO is still collecting Capri sun juice boxes and Frito Lay chip bags. This has been a huge success but does take a lot of time . Thanks to our Student Council who have decided to help the PTO and continue to collect for us! Way to go. We have also been turning in those ink cartridges to Staples. Staples has changed their collection payments. We are now receiving $2 per cartridge. Thank you for all of your support.
November 10 is set for Barnes and Nobles book fair from 6-8pm. Buchanan does receive credit for any purchases through out the day. All cafe purchases also count for our fundraiser. Just mention you are with Buchanan to ensure we receive the credit. Also, internet orders will be accepted. Our Bookfair ID number is 10542462. When you place the internet order, you need to put in the Bookfair ID number and Buchanan will receive the credit. All money earned helps the teachers build up their classroom libraries. This years theme (back by popular demand) is PJ night. Children are also allowed to wear their PJ's to school that day. We are off the following day...so come hang out with your family and support our school. Also, we will have an author come to the school and also read at our event. He will have a special guest with him as well. Don't forget, all students that attend will receive a homework pass...and the class with the greatest attendance will receive a party from the PTO.
Holiday shop dates have been set. This years shop will be 11/28 to 12/2. The holiday bazaar will be 12/3 from 11-2pm. More information will follow. If you are a vendor or know of anyone who like to sale items at our Holiday bazaar, please have them contact the school and leave the PTO a message. So far, we have booked a Premier Design table and also a Pampered Chef table.
PTO is getting ready to make a Facebook page to help get word out about PTO happenings. Please look for this new addition very shortly.
The school nurse has requested a donation of underwear for her office. She is in need of size 6-8 for both males and females. Please contact PTO if you are willing to donate.

The next meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 15th at 3:30pm. We will be having PTO meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month unless there is a scheduling issue. In the past we did not receive enough attendance to have evening meetings. All meetings will be held at 3:30pm.
