     Welcome to Fifth Grade!  I am pleased to be working with your child this year.  This is my tenth year of teaching and my sixth year in fifth grade.  The fifth grade teachers have been working hard this summer to make this year an excellent educational experience.  We have many activities planned for this year, including field trips to Citizens Bank Park and Independence Hall, cooperative learning with Power Teaching Math, and a new Science program. This program includes hands on investigations of solar energy and models and levers. In addition, we will be continuing the 100 Book Challenge Research Labs.

          I look forward to working with you and your child this year.  Working together as a team can only benefit your student.

Finally, please make note of the change in our school's start time. School begins promptly at 9:00 am.  Should your child be receiving breakfast, he/she should be at the school no earlier than 8:30 am. Should you need a copy of the fifth grade supply list, go to the school's supply list web page and click on fifth grade.
