   Knitting Club Meeting Dates for November

Look what our members have been busy making!

 

These items will be for "sale" in October.  Students will be able to use thier effective behavior tickets (after first getting thier school shirt).  Family members interested in buying may do so.  Each item cost $1.00 and 100% of all proceeds will be used for future club projects.  Check back soon for an order form.

Not sure you want to join, the  Knitting Club is offering a one day free trial.  You must be in grades 4-6.  Check the bulletin board for your one day pass.  Parents signature required.

Last year, the knitting club raised $100.00 at our holiday bazaar selling products made by our dedicated members.  

Knitting Club members went on a field trip to Save-A-Lot where they used the money to buy groceries. These groceries were donated to Martha's Cupboard to help families in need!

KNITTING CLUB will begin Thursday, September 15th.  All former and new members MUST fill out a permission form PRIOR to attending the first meeting.  Members of the same family can fill out one form only if the contact information for all children listed is the same for all children.  Permission forms can be printed from this page (Please scroll to bottom and click on the link ) or can be found on Buchanan News bulletin board between front and back hall.  Knitting Club is open to all 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students.  It is asked that students that sign up do attend REGULARLY and BE ON TIME.  Later in the year, 3rd grade students will have an opportunity to join as they will be mentored by the 4-6 grade members.

   What you need to do to JOIN:

1.  Get a permission form by either printing it from link on this page or getting it from bulletin board.  (Please do not come to Room 14 and ask for one.)

2.  Have a Parent or Guardian fill out the permission form COMPLETELY.

3.  Return Permsission form to Mrs. Reich's mailbox prior to attending your first meeting.  

4.  Meet in the school lobby at 8:30 SHARP!  It is very important to be on time.

5.  Knitting Club has an open enrollment policy.  Anytime after September 15th a student may join.  So if it doesn't fit into your schedule now, maybe it may later in the school year.  Come and join us then!!!!

 

Don't be afraid to try something new.  The way we knit is a lot easier than you might think.  Also, these days, we do a lot more than knit scarves and hats.  We are always creating new and fun crafts centered around holidays, and school activities.  Maybe you can give us our next great idea.  If not, it's fun just being part of a team!!!!!!  Hope you will join us.

(Please note that the permission form currently list 8:20 as the start time.  Students can be dropped off in the school lobby no earlier than 8:20 but won't be able to go to the classroom until 8:30.  We will be making the change to the permission form shortly to reflect this change.)
