Welcome to Washington ESL!

The purpose of the ESL program is to provide instruction and support for students who speak a language other than English. Based on information given when a child is registered to attend school, that child may be given an assessment to determine his or her level of English proficiency. Then, plans can be made to provide instruction to help that child improve their level of English proficiency.

Students who qualify for ESL instruction receive support from their classroom teachers, the ESL teacher, and other professionals.
