PROFESSIONAL SUBSTITUTE INFORMATION

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in Bristol Township School District. The following information should be of use to you while working for our district.  

School Day

  Teacher Student
Elementary 8:20am - 3:50pm 9:25am - 3:35pm
Middle School 7:45am - 3:15pm 8:00am - 2:45pm
High School 7:05am - 2:35pm 7:25am - 2:10pm

 Rate of Pay  

Substitute rate of pay is $80.00 per day. After 10 days the rate increases to $90.00 per day.

 After 40 consecutive days in one assignment you would be paid pro-rated contract rate for the length of time in that position.  

Calling Procedure  

The service has been directed to start with substitutes in the applicable certification area. If they cannot fill a position with that certification they are instructed to call teachers with other areas of certification. Therefore, an elementary certified teacher will be called, unless otherwise directed, to fill a secondary position if the need arises.  

The service we currently use is AESOP.  

How to Activate Your Name With Us  

In order to activate your name with our substitute calling service you must be approved as a substitute teacher by the BTSD Board of School Directors and have the following information on file at the Personnel Office.

If you have not completed all of the required new hire paperwork, please contact the Personnel office at (215) 943-3200 x240/241 to make arrangements to do so.

 The information required as a new employee is as follows:

  1. Complete application packet which includes the following (copies are acceptable):
    • PA Standard application;
    • PA certificate;
    • College transcripts;
    • Praxis (NTE) scores (if applicable);
    • three letters of professional reference;
    • Act 34 Forms;
    • Department of Public Welfare Clearance forms
  2. W-4 tax form
  3. Federal Immigration Form (I-9) - requires proof of identification (i.e. passport or drivers' license and Social Security Card)
  4. PSERS Retirement Status form
  5. Notification of Workers' Compensation Policy
  6. Notification of BTSD Drug Policy
  7. PA New Hire Report
  8. Physical Form (requires physical and TB test that are less than one year old) - must be signed by a physician.
  9. Employment Reference forms - indicate to whom form should be sent and sign at the bottom.
