2013-14 Budget Development

All Pennsylvania school districts are required to submit their annual budget to the state before June 30.  Often, these budgets are developed without clear and definitive information on state budget contributions for the year.

Bristol Township School District begins preparing its budget each fall for the following school year.  All administrators must submit and explain their annual budget requests on paper.  Budgets go to the School Board.  Selected administrators make presentations and answer questions to the board.

At a January board meeting, the school's business manager presents a preliminary budget. This budget has been prepared before the Governor makes the State's budget projections. The school budget will go through a refining process that incorporates new information as it is received or developed.  This process is open to community inspection and suggestion through public meetings.
