Vision statement:
Clara Barton Elementary School will become a Benchmark School and make sufficient AYP according to national goals. Academic work will take precedence over all other school activities, and assessment results will reflect our expectations of academic excellence. All students will be performing at or above grade level in reading and mathematics or will be making reasonable progress toward this goal. All students will develop proficiency in the English language.
Students will accept the challenge to do their best work, and all will be provided with the opportunities to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for academic success. Resources will be adequate for the implementation of our programs and access to state- of-the-art technology. Parents will play an active role in the education of their children.
Instruction is intentional and guided by Best Practice
Pleasure reading is promoted among students
Differentiated instruction and flexible grouping ensure that we are meeting the needs of all students.
A variety of assessments are utilized to inform instruction, measure achievement and progress toward our vision, and modify programs.
Academic progress of each student is monitored, and support is sought for those who require additional assistance.
Disciplinary actions within the school are fair, organized, and sequential related to well-defined rules.
